At Ryu, we continue to watch with sadness and horror as the situation unfolds in Ukraine. We hope that peace can be restored quickly and that all who love Aikido can come together and train in harmony again soon.
We pray for the succour and well-being of all affected by armed conflict both new and ongoing, wherever it occurs, and we continue strive to achieve the ultimate goal of Aikido which is peace on Earth in our lifetime.
Finally we’d like to share this from Ueshiba Sensei where he describes what is the Spirit of Aikido:
“Aikido is love. It is the path that brings our heart into oneness with the spirit of the universe to complete our mission in life by instilling in us a love and reverence for all of nature… It is the path of absolute self-completion. By overcoming the self and eliminating our will to fight; the enemy itself is eliminated.”
